This short three-movement work employs flutes in G and A, although flutes in other keys may be used. I wrote it at the request of James Pellerite during his second career of commissioning, performing, and recording works for the Native American flute. He'd taken up the instrument after he retired from a busy and successful career as a performer on and teacher of the Western C flute.
