You're Everything I Wanted in a Gal was originally written for solo piano in June of 1984. I wrote this as a gift for my then fiancee to celebrate our engagement, which had begun on the 23rd of that month. In 1998, I orchestrated the work for performance by the Bloomington Pops, where it was premiered by that orchestra under the direction of Robert Stoll on February 13, 1999.
